Very important is a home loss of third ranked Toyama G. (7-15) against fifth ranked Akita Happinets (12-9) on Saturday night. Host Toyama G. unexpectedly was defeated by in Toyama 68-74. Akita Happinets dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Toyama G.'s 26. Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St., agency: HMS) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Akita Happinets' coach Kenjiro Maeda used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Daichi Kuzuhara (187-96) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Akita Happinets maintains fifth position with 12-9 record. Loser Toyama G. keeps the third place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Niigata A.. Akita Happinets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama G. will play again against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
