Regular Season Round 23: Nagoya DD - Kawasaki BT 78-97

An interesting game for Toshiba Thunders (20-3) which played road game in Nagoya against 3rd placed Diamond Dolphins (11-12). First ranked Toshiba Thunders had an easy win 97-78. Toshiba Thunders made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Diamond Dolphins turnovers. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds and American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: UConn) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for Diamond Dolphins in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-3 record. Diamond Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 12 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will meet league's second-placed Toyama G. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
