Very important is a home loss of second ranked Prometey (10-4) against fifth ranked Kyiv Basket (8-5) on Sunday night. Host Prometey was defeated by Kyiv Basket in Kamianske 88-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Prometey. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kyiv Basket forced 20 Prometey turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Prometey was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Viacheslav Petrov (204-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Randy Culpepper (183-89, college: UTEP, agency: Inception Sports) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) scored 23 points and 4 steals. Prometey's coach Karlis Muiznieks rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyiv Basket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Prometey keeps the second position with four games lost. Kyiv Basket will play against Mykolaiv (#7) at home in the next round.
