Regular Season Round 23: Osaka E. - Hitachi SRT 98-94

An interesting game for Osaka E. (15-7) which hosted in Osaka 3rd placed Hitachi Sunrockers (15-8). First ranked Osaka E. managed to get a 4-point victory 98-94. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Osaka E. shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) added 20 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Osaka E. maintains first place with 15-7 record, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Hitachi Sunrockers lost their third game in a row. They keep the third position with eight games lost. Osaka E.'s next round opponent will be Kyoto H. (#5) on the road. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and hope to win that game.
