Regular Season Round 13: Tofas - Anadolu Efes 72-83

An interesting game for Anadolu Efes (12-1) which played road game in Bursa against 4th placed Tofas (9-4). First ranked Anadolu Efes managed to get a 11-point victory 83-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. They outrebounded Tofas 33-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists. American Chris Singleton (206-89, college: FSU, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Anadolu Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Sammy Mejia (199-83, college: DePaul) answered with 22 points and international point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-96) added 7 points and 10 assists in the effort for Tofas. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Tofas at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Anadolu Efes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Darussafaka.
