Top ranked Nuggets (22-8) recorded its eighth loss in Denver on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Pelicans (8-24) 112-100. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Nuggets. They outrebounded Nuggets 52-40 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pelicans looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Brandon Ingram (206-97, college: Duke) who scored 31 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Jrue Holiday (193-90, college: UCLA) chipped in 20 points, 8 assists and 6 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jerami Grant (203-94, college: Syracuse) added 17 points respectively. Four Pelicans and five Nuggets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pelicans maintains fifth place with 8-24 record, which they share with Golden St.W. Nuggets at the other side still keep top position with eight games lost. They share it with Miami Heat.
