Regular Season Round 9: Kyiv Basket - Dnipro 81-86

Superleague top team - Dnipro (11-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Kyiv Basket (8-5) 86-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kyiv Basket. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Kyiv Basket won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by Kyiv Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international center Kyrylo Fesenko (215-86) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Kasey Shepherd (190-94, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) who recorded 22 points and 5 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. Dnipro have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Dnipro's next round opponent will be Khimik (#3) in Yuzhny, which may be the game of the day. Kyiv Basket will play at home against Mykolaiv and hope to win that game.
