Regular Season Round 66: Boston C. - Toronto R. 97-113

Date: December 28, 2019
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Boston where second-best Celtics (22-8) were defeated by third ranked Raptors (22-10) 113-97 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Raptors outrebounded Celtics 53-31 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Point guard Kyle Lowry (183-86, college: Villanova) scored 30 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Patrick McCaw (201-95, college: UNLV) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Kemba Walker (185-90, college: UConn) with 30 points and forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Raptors and five Celtics players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Houston R. Loser Celtics keep the second place with eight games lost. Raptors will face Thunder (#3) in Oklahoma City in the next day, which may be the game of the day.
