An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers faced their close opponent Diamond Dolphins. Host Hitachi Sunrockers (16-9) smashed guests from Nagoya (11-14) 85-65. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 21 Diamond Dolphins turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) came up with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: UConn) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Diamond Dolphins in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third place with 16-9 record having six points less than leader Tochigi B. which they share with defeated Diamond Dolphins. Diamond Dolphins lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers' next round opponent will be again Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya, which may be the game of the day.
