Regular Season Round 26: Hokkaido L. - Toyama G. 94-96

Important game to mention about took place in Saporro. Second ranked Toyama G. (10-16) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (11-15) 96-94 in the game for the second place. Toyama G. made 27-of-30 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Josh Peppers (201-85, college: UCF) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: UNC) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toyama G. maintains second position with 10-16 record having thirteen points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Shiga L-Stars and Kyoto H. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the third place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Nagoya DD. Toyama G. will play against league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
