An interesting game for Hitachi Sunrockers (17-9) which hosted in Tokyo their close opponent Diamond Dolphins (11-15). Third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers had an easy win 96-77. Hitachi Sunrockers made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) supported him with 27 points. Even a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) did not help to save the game for Diamond Dolphins. Forward Yudai Nishida (188-99) added 13 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 17-9 record having six points less than leader Tochigi B. which they share with defeated Diamond Dolphins. Diamond Dolphins lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Hokkaido L.. Hitachi Sunrockers will meet at home Yokohama BC (#5) in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against Kyoto H. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
