LEB Gold top team - Gipuzkoa (12-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked HLA Alicante (7-8) in San Sebastian 83-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of HLA Alicante. It was a great evening for American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-93, college: Northeastern) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Devin Schmidt (193-94, college: Delta St., agency: Duran International) with 15 points and Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU, agency: Players Group) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gipuzkoa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record, which they share with Valladolid. Newly promoted HLA Alicante keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Gipuzkoa will play against league's second-placed Carramimbre in Valladolid in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HLA Alicante will play at home against Magia Huesca (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
