Second-ranked Osaka E. (16-9) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Toyota Alvark (21-5) on Sunday. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only one-point victory 67-66. However their fans expected easier game. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) saved the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Osaka E.Four Osaka E. players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 21-5 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi B. which they share with defeated Osaka E. Osaka E. at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. Toyota Alvark are looking forward to face Chiba J. (#4) at home in the next round. Osaka E. will play against Niigata A. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
