Regular Season Round 27: Ryukyu GK - Tochigi B. 84-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tochigi B. (22-5) in Okinawa on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Ryukyu GK (19-7) 84-82. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Tochigi B.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Ryukyu GK made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was naturalized American forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-7 record which they share with defeated Tochigi B. Tochigi B. at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Ryukyu GK are again looking forward to face league's leader Tochigi B. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi B. will have a break next round.
