Regular Season Round 15: Zentro Basket - Alcala 89-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Zentro Basket's (9-5) home victory over 7th ranked Alcala (8-7) 89-85 on Saturday. They outrebounded Alcala 39-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Zentro Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Alcala's players. The best player for the winners was Pedro Garcia (202-98) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Nacho Rodriguez (200-94) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Zentro Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Juan-Gabriel Martinez (198-93) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Sergio Rodriguez (194-84) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zentro Basket moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Newly promoted Alcala keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Zentro Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Real Madrid II.
