We should mention about the upset which took place in Jinjiang, where higher ranked Brave Dragons (14-10) lost to fourteenth ranked Sturgeons (10-14) in a road game 101-106 on Saturday. Sturgeons made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international Zhelin Wang (214-94) who added 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) with a triple-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import forward Eric Moreland (208-91, college: Oregon St.) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Five Sturgeons and four Brave Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sturgeons maintains fourteenth position with 10-14 record. Loser Brave Dragons dropped to the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Qingdao E.. Sturgeons will meet at home Blue Whales (#17) in the next round. Brave Dragons will play against Golden Bulls (#7) in Hangzhou and hope to secure a win.
