There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Real Canoe (4-12) beat on the road 15th ranked Oviedo CB (5-11) 78-62 on Saturday. Real Canoe dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo CB's 30. Dutch forward Olaf Schaftenaar (208-93, college: Oregon St.) fired 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Alberto Martin (184-95) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Real Canoe's coach Miguel Angel Aranzabal used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Real Canoe maintains seventeenth position with 4-12 record. Loser Oviedo CB keeps the fifteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Forca Lleida.
