Regular Season Round 27: Osaka E. - Niigata A. 89-61

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Osaka E. (17-9) outscored at home 4th placed Niigata A. (8-19) 89-61 on Saturday. They outrebounded Niigata A. 42-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Niigata A.'s players. It was a great evening for American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) helped adding 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Keita Imamura (191-96) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Osaka E. maintains second place with 17-9 record having eight points less than leader Tochigi B. Loser Niigata A. keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Osaka E. will face again Niigata A. (#4) at home in the next round.
