Regular Season Round 28: Ryukyu GK - Tochigi B. 69-83

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Okinawa. First ranked Tochigi B. faced their close opponent Ryukyu GK. Guests from Tochigi (23-5) defeated host Ryukyu GK (19-8) 83-69. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds by power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Ryukyu GK. Forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi B. maintains first position with 23-5 record which they share with defeated Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. Tochigi B.'s next round opponent will be Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Tokyo, which may be the game of the day. Ryukyu GK will play at home against Shiga L-Stars and hope to win that game.
