Rather expected game when 6th ranked Calpe (5-9) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Jairis (10-5) 97-67 on Sunday. The game without a history. Jairis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Calpe's 28 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Italian-Argentinian Juan-Ignacio Jasen (200-85) who scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Fabio Astilleros (195-94) who recorded 15 points and point guard Jaime Ivars (186-94) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jairis moved-up to third place in Group E-B, which they share with UCAM Murcia II. Calpe lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Jairis will face Cartagena (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Calpe will play against the league's second-placed Gandia and hope to win that game.
