Zalgiris (16-1) recorded its first loss in Panevezys on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Lietkabelis (11-6) 83-72. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Zalgiris. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Zalgiris managed to win fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Zalgiris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Defending champion Zalgiris still keeps top place with one game lost. Lietkabelis are looking forward to face Neptunas (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round. Zalgiris will play at home against Nevezis and is hoping to win this game.
