Top ranked Toshiba Thunders (24-4) recorded its fourth loss in Kanagawa on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Toyama G. (11-17) 88-56. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Toyama G. made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Toshiba Thunders helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The other American import Josh Peppers (201-85, college: UCF) chipped in 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyama G. moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Toshiba Thunders at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Toyama G. is looking forward to face league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu and are hoping to win this game.
