Regular Season Round 15: Darussafaka - Bandirma 96-88

An interesting game was played in Istanbul where host Darussafaka (#8) won against 5th ranked Bandirma 96-88 on Sunday evening. Darussafaka made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Bandirma turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Bonzie Colson-Jr (198-96, college: Notre Dame) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: WVU) helped adding 15 points and 8 assists. Five Darussafaka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jaime Smith (190-89, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Wasserman) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists and the other American import Omar Prewitt (201-94, college: William & Mary) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka (8-7) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Bandirma dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Darussafaka will meet at home Buyukcekmece (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bandirma will play against the league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
