Regular Season Round 26: Neptunas-Akv. - Suduva-Mantinga 77-78

Fourth-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (15-9) gave a tough game to second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (20-4) in Klaipeda. The visitors from Marijampole managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected easier game. Suduva-Mantinga players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86, agency: Players Group) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Even 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Forward Nojus Mineikis (200-0) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-4 record having just two points less than leader Telsiai. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Ereliai Mazeikiai (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Delikatesas (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
