Regular Season Round 28: Hitachi SRT - Yokohama BC 91-69

Date: January 5, 2020
Rather predictable result in Tokyo where third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (19-9) outscored 5th ranked Yokohama BC (7-20) 91-69 on Sunday. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 39-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: UC Merced) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-9 record having five points less than leader Tochigi B. Yokohama BC lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 20 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Tochigi B. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yokohama BC will play against Niigata A. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
