Regular Season Round 26: Zalgiris II - Telsiai 92-93

Sixth-ranked Zalgiris II (11-13) gave a tough game to first ranked Telsiai (22-2) in Kaunas on Sunday. The visitors from Telsiu managed to secure only one-point victory 93-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Telsiai made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Zalgiris II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Ernestas Bruzas (183-96) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists during the contest. Guard Dominykas Stenionis (174-2) responded with 26 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Justinas Ramanauskas (193-0) scored 14 points. Four Telsiai and five Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Telsiai have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-2 record. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Palanga. Telsiai are looking forward to face Palanga (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris II will play against Gargzdu in Gargzdai and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
