Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Ironi Ashkelon (6-6) won against at home 13th ranked Hapoel H/M (3-9) 132-126. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ironi Ashkelon made 52-of-65 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Hapoel H/M only scored 36 points from the stripe. Ironi Ashkelon forced 26 Hapoel H/M turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Ironi Ashkelon brought some defensive toughness making 13 blocks. 39 personal fouls committed by Hapoel H/M helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) who scored 48 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Armenian forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Ashkelon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kiryat Motzkin and Hod Hasharon. Hapoel H/M lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Ironi Ashkelon's next round opponent will be Maccabi Raanana (#10) on the road. Hapoel H/M will play against Netanya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
