We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (1-2) beat on the road bottom-ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (1-4) 79-73 on Wednesday. Saigon Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and center Kok Chiang Goh (199-95) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Singapore Slingers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saigon Heat left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Loser Singapore Slingers dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. Saigon Heat will face higher ranked Macau (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Singapore Slingers will play against Alab Pilipinas (#3) and hope to win that game.
