Regular Season Round 78: OKC Thunder - Houston R. 113-92

Very significant was Thunder's (#3, 22-16) victory against top-ranked Rockets (25-12) 113-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rockets. Thunder made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rockets 52-39 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Italian Danilo Gallinari (208-88) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Chris Paul (183-85, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Thunder players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists and James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) added 17 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder maintains third position with 22-16 record having just one point less than leader Milwaukee B. Loser Rockets still keep top place with 12 games lost.
