The game in Hafnarfjordur was also quite interesting. 5th ranked KR (7-5) played at the court of sixth ranked Haukar (7-6). Haukar managed to secure a 8-point victory 83-75 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KR. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to KR's 36. Haukar forced 19 KR turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Flenard Whitfield (201-90, college: W.Michigan) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-84, college: UT Martin) accounted for 17 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for KR in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Haukar maintains sixth place with 7-6 record. Defending champion KR keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Haukar will meet Grindavik (#9) on the road in the next round. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Fjolnir.
