Regular Season Round 19: CSKA Junior - Spartak-Prim.-2 103-81

Leader CSKA Junior delivered the twenty second victory. This time they crushed 10th ranked Spartak-Prim.-2 (8-18) 103-81 in Moscow. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Spartak-Prim.-2 was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA Junior dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak-Prim.-2's 36 and made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. CSKA Junior players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alexander Maltsev (200-2) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists. Forward Vasiliy Lakhin (210-99) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. CSKA Junior's coach Andrey Maltsev felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Gennadii Denisov (207-0) answered with 28 points and forward Georgy Pilipchuk (202-1) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Spartak-Prim.-2. CSKA Junior (22-2) have an impressive series of twenty one victories in a row. They maintain first place. Newly promoted Spartak-Prim.-2 keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. CSKA Junior will again play against Spartak-Prim.-2 (#10) in Vladivostok in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak-Prim.-2 will have a break next round.
