Eleventh-ranked Castello (7-10) made lots of trouble for third ranked Palma (12-5) in S'Arenal on Friday. Palma managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Palma looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Bosnian-Croatian forward Boris Barac (205-92, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Erik Quintela (184-91, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Palma's coach Felix Alonso used entire bench in such tough game. American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Palma maintains third place with 12-5 record having just two points less than leader Valladolid, which they share with Coruna. Loser Castello keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Huesca and Almansa. Palma will meet at home Oviedo CB (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Castello will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#7) in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
