Regular Season Round 13: Tindastoll - Njardvik 91-80

An interesting game for Tindastoll (9-4) which hosted in Sauoarkrokur 4th placed Njardvik (8-5). Third ranked Tindastoll managed to get a 11-point victory 91-80. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Njardvik. Tindastoll had a 30-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: Lincoln Memorial) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Chaz Williams (175-91, college: UMass, agency: Green Sports Management) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Njardvik. Tindastoll maintains third place with 9-4 record having just two points less than leader Stjarnan. Njardvik at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Tindastoll are looking forward to face league's leader Stjarnan on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Njardvik will play against the league's second-placed Keflavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
