There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Sokol Vyseh. (5-9) was outscored by ninth ranked Kondori Lib. (2-12) in Liberec 91-58 on Friday. Kondori Lib. outrebounded Sokol Vyseh. 45-31 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Maurice Taylor (198-94, college: Niagara) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Filip Kroutil (190-96) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kondori Lib. players scored in double figures. Center Tomas Belohradsky (204-97) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and center Jaroslav Tyrna (207-86, college: New Orleans, agency: Octagon Europe) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sokol Vyseh.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Newly promoted Kondori Lib. maintains ninth place in West with 2-12 record. Loser Sokol Vyseh. keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Kondori Lib. will face higher ranked Loko Plzen (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
