Regular Season Round 23: BC Lulea - Jamtland 89-86

Seventh-ranked KFUM Jamtland (7-14) gave a tough game to third ranked BC Lulea (17-5). BC Lulea managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 29-21. But KFUM Jamtland won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely KFUM Jamtland outrebounded BC Lulea 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 6 assists. The former international forward Denzel Andersson (203-96) accounted for 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. BC Lulea's coach Peter Oqvist allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: Tennessee St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Justin Gordon (198-93, college: Wofford) added 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for KFUM Jamtland in the defeat. Five KFUM Jamtland players scored in double figures. BC Lulea have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 17-5 record behind leader Koping Stars. KFUM Jamtland at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. BC Lulea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KFUM Jamtland will play on the road against Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
