Regular Season Round 15: Alcobendas - Estudiantes B 76-75

Eighth-ranked Estudiantes B (7-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked Alcobendas (12-2) on Saturday. Alcobendas managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected much easier game. Alcobendas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Eduardo Alvarez who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points. Center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) helped adding 8 points and 10 rebounds. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian center Emil Stoilov (208-2) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and forward Pablo Gonzalez (190-1) scored 24 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alcobendas have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 12-2 record. Loser Estudiantes B dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Alcobendas will meet at home Estudio (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Estudiantes B will play against Tenerife Naut. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
