Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked L'Hospitalet (9-8) beat at home 8th ranked Gran Canaria II (7-10) 86-82 on Saturday. L'Hospitalet made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Gran Canaria II turnovers. Gran Canaria II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Joan Creus (185-92) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Albert Homs (201-94) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four L'Hospitalet players scored in double figures. Center Ruben Lopez (205-2) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Dominican guard Jean Montero (189-3) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Gran Canaria II's coach Salvador Camps tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. L'Hospitalet moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Newly promoted Gran Canaria II keeps the eighth position with ten games lost.
