Regular Season Round 15: Esparreguera - Boet 73-54

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Boet (3-11) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Esparreguera (6-8) 73-54 on Saturday. Esparreguera dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Boet's 20. They outrebounded Boet 41-18 including a 35-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Sudanese center Deng Mayot (218-97) who scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Francesc Riera (196-91) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward David Romero (191-90) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and Miquel Puig (192-0) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Esparreguera moved-up to seventh place in Group C-A, which they share with Arenys. Boet lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Esparreguera will face league's second-placed Igualada on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Boet will play against Quart (#3) and hope to win that game.
