Regular Season Round 15: Beroe - Balkan 65-75

An interesting game for Balkan (14-1) which played road game in Stara Zagora against 3rd placed Beroe (11-4). First ranked Balkan managed to get a 10-point victory 75-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beroe. Balkan dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 20. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian point guard Marko Radonjic (190-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. International Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93) accounted for 17 points and 4 steals for the winning side. The former international Ivan Lilov (194-88) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Zach Monaghan (188-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 15 points respectively for Beroe in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Balkan. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record, which they share with Levski Lukoil. Loser Beroe keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Rilski. Balkan will meet at home league's second-placed Levski Lukoil in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beroe will play against Rilski in Samokov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
