Not a big story in a game when 4th placed CD Castro (10-10) was defeated on the road by first ranked Puente Alto (16-6) 87-72 on Saturday. Puente Alto made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American-Nigerien swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: UCF) stepped up and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American forward Corbin Jackson (198-92, college: Florida Tech) chipped in 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American forward Cedric Blossom (198-94, college: Morgan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Juan Fontena (196-87) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. CD Castro's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Puente Alto. They maintain first place with 16-6 record. Loser CD Castro dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Puente Alto will face league's second-placed Deportivo Valdivia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CD Castro will play against Puerto Montt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
