Regular Season Round 15: Mataro Feimat - Salou 61-68

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Salou (8-6) beat on the road 3rd placed Mataro Feimat (9-5) 68-61 on Sunday. Salou forced 20 Mataro Feimat turnovers. Strangely Mataro Feimat outrebounded Salou 47-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Marc Olle (179-93) who scored 19 points. Point guard Gerard Santiago (185-92) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized GMBn forward Omar Toure (199-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and forward Jordi Juanola (196-98) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Salou maintains sixth place in Group C-B with 8-6 record, which they share with Castelldefels and Badalones. Loser Mataro Feimat dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Salou will face Roser (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mataro Feimat will play against Sant Adria (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
