Regular Season Round 7: Saigon H. - Mono Vampire 64-85
Date: January 12, 2020
10th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (2-3) was outscored at home by second ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (7-2) with the biggest margin this round 85-64. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Preston Knowles (187-89, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Mono Vampire players scored in double figures. Forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Torian Graham (196-93, college: ASU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Saigon Heat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mono Vampire keeps a position of league leader. Saigon Heat at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Mono Vampire's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Fubon Braves and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saigon Heat will play against Formosa D. (#4) and hope to win that game.
