An interesting game took place in Tuebingen where 7th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (10-9) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Walter Tigers (9-10) 88-80 on Sunday. Walter Tigers made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Walter Tigers outrebounded MLP Academics Heidelberg 32-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Marvin Smith (198-95, college: UNCG) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Diante Baldwin (180-94, college: UNCG) who added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: WSU) responded with 29 points and guard Niklas Wuerzner (196-94) scored 15 points. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Walter Tigers moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kirchheim. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Walter Tigers will face BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#13) at home in the next round.
