No shocking result in a game in Memphis where third ranked Grizzlies (18-22) smashed 5th ranked Warriors (9-32) 122-102 on Sunday. Grizzlies dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 36 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Grizzlies forced 22 Warriors turnovers and outrebounded them 60-47 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Grizzlies made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas (213-92) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 19 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Forward Jaren Jackson-Jr (211-99, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was DAngelo Russell (196-96, college: Ohio St.) who recorded 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Eric Paschall (203-96, college: Villanova) added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively. Four Grizzlies and five Warriors players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Grizzlies. They maintain third place with 18-22 record having five points less than leader Milwaukee B. Warriors lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 32 games lost.
