A1 top team - Panathinaikos (13-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Lavrio (7-8) in Athens 105-74. The game without a history. Panathinaikos outrebounded Lavrio 41-28 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Lavrio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international Ioannis Papapetrou (204-94, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points. The former international Konstantinos Mitoglou (209-96, college: Wake Forest) helped adding 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Senegalese-American power forward Malik Dime (206-92, college: Washington) with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Kyle Allman (190-97, college: CS Fullerton) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Lavrio at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ionikos Nikaias. Panathinaikos will play against Promitheas (#3) in Patras in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lavrio will play at home against Kolossos HH and hopes to get back on the winning track.
