No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Ironi Nahariya (6-9) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (2-13) 96-84. Ironi Nahariya players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American-German guard Travis Warech (193-91, college: Ithaca) notched 21 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and American Tony Gaffney (206-84, college: UMass, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Ashdod. Naturalized American Stuart Douglass (191-90, college: Michigan) added 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Nahariya moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and H.Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Ashdod lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Ironi Nahariya's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
