Very expected game in Sao Paulo where 15th ranked Sao Jose (3-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Corinthians (9-7) 103-92 on Tuesday. Corinthians made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) stepped up and scored 31 points for the winners and Bahamas David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Center Rafael Rodrigues (213-87) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Dominican guard Nehemias Morillo (196-92, college: S.Florida) scored 21 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Corinthians went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Paulistano and UniFacisa. Sao Jose lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth place with 14 games lost. Corinthians will face SKY/Basquete (#14) in Aldeota in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sao Jose will play on the road against Rio Claro and hope to win that game.
