Very important is a road loss of second ranked Al Wakrah (9-4) against fifth ranked Al Rayyan (7-5) on Wednesday night. Visiting Al Wakrah was defeated by Al Rayyan in a tough game in Doha 75-81. Al Rayyan dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Al Wakrah's 30. They outrebounded Al Wakrah 41-21 including 17 on the offensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Tony Farmer (201-94, college: Lee JC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Eric Lockett (196, college: NC State) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lockett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Julius Coles (193-89, college: Canisius) replied with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Tevin Glass (206-94, college: ETSU) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Al Wakrah. Al Rayyan maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Al Wakrah at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Sadd.
