Regular Season Round 5: Toros - Caballos 53-94

Bottom-ranked Toros (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked Caballos (4-1) 94-53 on Wednesday evening. Caballos forced 20 Toros turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (193-92, college: Georgia South) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Caballos players scored in double figures. Point guard Joel Munoz (183-80) produced 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Gil Atencio (202-96, college: St.Clair) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caballos maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Panteras. Loser Toros still closes the standings with five games lost.
