Regular Season Round 19: BK Pardubice - BK Opava 73-87

An interesting game for BK Opava (15-4) which played road game in Pardubice against 4th placed BK Pardubice (11-7). Second ranked BK Opava managed to get a 14-point victory 87-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Pardubice. BK Opava players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for center Martin Gniadek (203-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-87, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points and 10 assists. At the losing side international point guard Viktor Pulpan (191-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international point guard Tomas Vyoral (190-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Opava maintains second place with 15-4 record having eight points less than leader ERA Nymburk. BK Pardubice at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. BK Opava will play against bottom-ranked Brno (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BK Pardubice will play against Svitavy (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
